  Matthew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Here "enter ye in" speaks of a choice. In order to walk this way we must enter at the narrow gate as the Lord has constraint us. Unless we enter at the narrow gate we will never be able to walk this way. There is also a gate, which represent an obstacle that must be overcome. Wherever a gate is maintained, it is to limit free movement or to regulate entry. To enter a gateway one must meet the gatekeeper requirements. This gate being narrow does not allow many to enter at any given time. So while waiting to enter, some grow impatient and weary. Many are discouraged because to reach the gate, “a pushing” against obstacles is required. There are those who are also pushing at the vicinity of the gate but with no desire to enter. These are pushing to cause those who really want to enter to fall. They are pushing in the opposite direction to cause confusion. Unless one is therefore sure this is the gate they wish to enter, they will not be able to enter at this narrow gate. "The way” represents our daily life. Narrow refers to the strictness of the Lord's commands, there is no room for deviation. And do remember this way must be found, which suggest searching. You will not encounter this way casually but we must actively search. Truth is often found among the minority, How sad the scripture says to us only a few will find it.  For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction. How strange it is that in today's world many among us love the easy way, anything that poses a challenge to us we shy away quickly. But the scripture maintains that this way leadeth to destruction. The inner life that is within those of us who are saved is of a high order. It is only the challenges we encounter on a daily basis that will cause that life to come forth. Those of us choosing the easy way will never realize the potential of life that is given to a believer at their conversion.
